What is Amateur Radio?
Amateur radio, or ham radio, is a licensed hobby where people use radio frequencies to communicate, explore technology, and serve their communities. Hams do many things, including:

License Levels
Basic
Pass the Basic ExamScore 70β79% on the Basic exam. Allows access to some frequency bands.
Basic with Honours
Pass the Basic ExamScore 80% or higher on the Basic exam. Allows access to all frequency bands.
Advanced
Pass the Basic Advanced ExamAdds higher power limits, permission to build transmitters, and operate repeaters.
